Viewing of mobile operating theatre provides insight into the rapid provision of healthcare spaces
Vanguard Healthcare Solutions is hosting an information event for healthcare professionals which will offer a tour of one of its new mobile operating theatres.
The organisation recently worked alongside St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to create a bespoke surgical hub – a four-theatre complex at its Queen Mary’s Hospital in Roehampton – using modular construction methods in a project completed in less than four months.
And it will be showcasing the new theatre solution at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Roehampton on Tuesday February 28 and Wednesday 1 March.
During The Vanguard Operating Theatre Experience healthcare professionals, including surgeons and anaesthetists alongside hospital estates and planning colleagues, managers, and architects, with gather to tour one of the operating theatres, positioned beside the new surgical hub.
Vanguard’s clinical, operational, and logistics team members will conduct tours of the mobile theatre and answer questions.
Visitors will also learn more about how Vanguard builds modular healthcare spaces, such as the surgical hub, and mixed-modality facilities which combine the benefits of mobile and modular elements.
It comes after a recent report from the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSE), entitled The Case For Surgical Hubs, recognised the important role these facilities can have in addressing waiting list backlogs.
Vanguard mobile operating theatres have been used by healthcare systems globally to deliver tens of thousands of essential procedures including orthopaedic, ophthalmic, and general surgeries, open heart surgery, and gynaecology.
They have been used worldwide to increase clinical capacity in both planned and emergency situations and can help with reducing waiting times.
Complementing its mobile and modular clinical environments, such as operating theatres, endoscopy suites, day surgery, clinics, and ward space, which help healthcare providers to increase patient capacity and clinical space, Gloucester-based Vanguard also provides highly-trained support staff.
