An innovative mixed-modality solution has been used to create a temporary endoscopy unit for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.
Vanguard Healthcare Solutions has designed and built a bespoke building, including modular and mobile elements, to enable services to continue while refurbishment work is undertaken on the hospital’s existing facilities.
The suite includes a fully-equipped modular dual-procedure room and a five-bed ward. It also has waiting and reception areas, consultation rooms, toilet facilities, and a staff welfare space, as well as utility and plant spaces – all within the combined modular and mobile building.
The mobile element of the solution is one of the latest to be built by Vanguard and is the first to be designed to stand at 18m in length; while the modular element is made up of 11 modules and took five weeks from delivery of the modules to testing and becoming operational.
