Emergency care centre takes shape

Contractor, Tilbury Douglas, has started building the new Urgent and Emergency Care facility at Arrowe Park Hospital on behalf of Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The facility is designed to create an efficient patient flow, with those attending either the emergency department or the urgent treatment centre entering through a single point, which will ensure patients are provided with the right care, in the right place, at the right time. Janelle Holmes, trust chief executive, said: “This is the biggest investment at Arrowe Park Hospital since it was built over 40 years ago and shows our commitment to enhancing the care we provide to those who are in the most urgent need.”
