Vistamatic contributes to the new state-of-the-art mental health inpatient unit

North View is the new purpose-built mental health inpatient development for Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

The £105.9milion investment offers modern facilities to the adult mental health inpatient hospital. With 150 single en-suite bedrooms across nine single sex wards, the vicinity includes a purpose built Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and six adult acute wards for female, male adults, and one older adult room. North View is one of the largest investments to be given to Mental Health Services in Greater Manchester.

The development also offers an assessment suite, specifically for people needing a place of safety and assessment under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act, whilst boasting a variety of internal activity areas and multiple outside garden spaces, specifically designed to enhance the environment and aid recovery.

Vistamatic worked closely with the interior designers at Gilling Dod Architects, collaborating on bespoke artwork and graphics for the vision panels on the bedroom doors. The custom graphics were put on both the internal and external of the vision panel so both the bedroom and the corridor benefitted from the aesthetics.

Alongside the artwork the vision panels included the newly improved Vistamatic Anti-ligature Thumb Turn knob which allows the Vistamatic to be controlled from the service user side whilst the corridor had the Vistamatic key lock operation for staff use only.

All vision panels were supplied and fitted with Vistamatic stainless steel anti-tamper bolt through beading.
