Modular solution for Leicester hospital expansion

MTX delivers new facilities at Leicester Royal Hospital

A new operating theatre, catheter lab, recovery suite, and outpatient and diagnostic facilities have been created at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

MTX has delivered a modular solution to create 1,000sq ft of additional space at the hospital.

Also including ancillary services and a dedicated plant room; the project involved the creation of a theatre and catheter lab on the first floor, utilising a modular-framed traditional cast in-situ concrete floor.

This steel structure was upgraded to minimise vibration while the floor and ceiling-mounted c-arms are operational.

The design also included an IPS/UPS solution and a full suite of medical gases in a series of retractable and articulated pendants.

Independent simplex AGSS pumps were also provided in each theatre and a spare pump was installed for back up.

The bespoke modular building links directly into the existing hospital.
